About Peak Assessment
About Me
My name is Lisa Marsh, and I am a Specialist Teacher and Assessor providing diagnostic assessments for individuals who may have dyslexia or related learning differences.
My work focuses on helping people gain a clear understanding of their learning profile in a way that is supportive, respectful and grounded in professional practice.
Professional Background
Assessment has formed a significant part of my professional practice for over 12 years. I hold the qualifications required to carry out diagnostic assessments and work in accordance with the guidance of the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC).
I hold a Diploma in Specialist Teaching and Assessment of Literacy-Related Difficulties, an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), and am a Member of the Dyslexia Guild.
Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) Code: 0126/249
Before specialising in assessment, I spent 36 years working in education across secondary schools and further education settings in South Yorkshire and Merseyside. During this time, I worked as a Geography teacher, Special Educational Needs teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo).
Throughout my career, I have supported children and young people with a wide range of learning needs. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the importance of assessment in identifying strengths and challenges, informing appropriate support, and helping individuals access the adjustments they may need to achieve their potential.
I am committed to providing assessments that are thorough, fair and clearly explained.
My Approach
I understand that seeking an assessment can sometimes feel uncertain or daunting. My aim is to create a calm, welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable and informed throughout the process.
Assessments are carried out carefully and systematically, with time taken to explain each stage of the process and answer any questions. I believe that assessment should not only identify areas of difficulty but also recognise strengths, helping individuals develop a better understanding of how they learn best.
